🔹 The North Atlantic Cold Blob Phenomenon
The cold blob is a specific patch in the North Atlantic that has cooled by about 1 degree Celsius since 1870. Contrary to earlier theories suggesting increased atmospheric heat loss, new research indicates this cooling is driven by a reduction in heat transport from the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC).
